Applications are invited for a Locum Consultant in Paediatric Plastic Surgery (10PA’s). This post will commence as soon as possible for a period of 6 months.

The postholder will join a team of Consultants in the Paediatric Plastics department.  The postholder will be involved in running the outpatient clinics and performing surgery for children requiring plastic intervention, and will predominantly be expected to assist with the the high backlog within the locum period.  They will also have oversight of the paediatric dressings clinic and will be expected to ensure this clinic is a much more streamlined and coordinated clinic going forward. They will also be required to provide general Plastic Surgery On Call cover 1:12 and “Hot Week” (On Call daytime cover for Plastic Surgery) 1:12.

Applicants are required to be on the Specialist Register with the GMC or be within 6 months of their CCT and have FRCS(Plast) or equivalent at the time of interview.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013).  Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
