Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is holding a Children’s Services Recruitment Event on Saturday 10th March 2018.

We are looking for newly qualified and experienced Paediatric Nurses, wanting to relocate to the beautiful city of Cambridge and work at one of the best NHS Foundation Teaching Trusts in the country.

Are you a very reliable and hardworking person who has high standards and likes to do an excellent job?

Are you known for always going that extra mile?

If the answer is yes, then please read on …

As a Nurse in Children’s Services at Addenbrookes, you will be joining a diverse and stimulating area. Our work is wide ranging and we are well respected both locally and as a regional specialist treatment centre. We provide excellent care across Medical and Surgical specialities. Our ethos of child centred care and multi-professional collaboration drives our service, alongside a commitment to family focused teamwork. We believe in supporting our patients, their families and our staff, and we offer a diverse range of dedicated paediatric psycho-social and clinical support services.

Opportunities available include permanent positions on our inpatient wards. These include a general paediatric ward, comprising of both elective and emergency admissions, a medical and surgical ward for children aged 0-3 years and a Regional Paediatric Oncology and Haematology ward for children aged 0-16. Further areas include a unit for babies under the age of 3 months with general medical and surgical requirements. This exciting opportunity will revolutionise the patient pathways and care between NICU/SCBU and the children’s wards. We also have a dedicated NICU which is a regional level 3 unit. PICU is a regional unit that covers all paediatric specialities requiring intensive or high dependency care from 0-16 years. In October 2018 we will also be offering an 18 month rotation programme for newly qualified nurses that will consist of 3 placements within the Children’s Services Unit.

Within Children’s Services there is also a newly designed, purpose built 26 bedded day case ward, which incorporates overnight beds. This ward predominantly comprises both elective and emergency admissions, with either medical or surgical conditions. It also undertakes rapid referral and pre admission clinics and is the theatre admissions unit for the Paediatric Service.

Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a regional trauma and neurosurgical centre and provides a regional service for other conditions such as cleft lip and palate, cystic fibrosis and gastroenterology.

Whilst working in our unit we have a lot to offer with opportunities for both professional and personal development within a friendly supportive team who are committed to staff development, alongside a 2 year Preceptorship programme for newly qualified nurses. We offer extensive in-house training, to advanced levels. Our well developed practice development team consists of Clinical Practice Facilitators, Development Nurses, Research Nurses, Nurse Specialists and Consultants. We actively encourage our staff to develop and offer numerous opportunities to extend your skills and experience – we believe it’s best for the care of our patients and best for you.
