Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow (Higher) in Neuro Rehabilitation to commence for six months. The role is full time, Monday – Friday, with working hours between 8:30 – 17:00. It is expected that this role will cover the 10 early Rehab post Trauma beds and the 4 Neuro-Rehab beds all based on Ward J2. There is also the expectation that this post will cover the 4 Lewin rehab beds when the other Clinical Fellow (Higher) is away.

The duties of this post will include daily ward rounds and ward reviews, attendance at the weekly MDT, updating of the rehabilitation prescriptions and discharge summaries for Neuro-Rehab patients.

There is no expectation to provide any on-call but depending on experience there may be opportunities to do so if the applicant wished.

This post is suitable for a trained GP as well as someone who has trained overseas and applying for certification here.

You will have 4 years full-time post graduate experience (or equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty, or shall have equivalent experience and competencies.

Please note that these posts do not carry Postgraduate Dean’s approval or training recognition.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013).  Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test. The UK Visas and Immigration department requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.

From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
