The UK homecare sector is growing rapidly with over 300,000 patients receiving Clinical Homecare services in the UK, many include delivery of high cost and/or specialist medicines with wrap-around patient support services. With current market value in excess of £2.6bn and push towards out-of-hospital care this is expected to continue to grow. At CUH we currently manage the supply of medicines directly to the homes of over 1000 patients and we are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated registered pharmacy technician to join our expanding pharmacy homecare team.  This is an exciting opportunity to work with us to meet the needs of our large, varied and highly specialised patient cohort to ensure they receive the best care. You will play a key role in the provision of specialist services helping us to deliver and improve the quality of patient care.
We are looking for someone who has experience of using pharmacy computer systems, has good interpersonal and communication skills, and is receptive to the priorities of patients, carers and other staff groups. Homecare experience is not essential and therefore applications from registered Pharmacy Technicians working in any healthcare sector are welcome.
You need to have experience working as a pharmacy technician, able to communicate with patients and to demonstrate good problem solving skills to ensure that we deliver a first class service to our patients. You will also be required to carry out general duties associated with Homecare Services including placing of orders, liaison with Homecare suppliers and ward/ outpatient clinic staff, maintenance of databases and preparation for invoice payment.
