Our Trust

Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) NHS Foundation Trust comprises Addenbrooke’s Hospital and the Rosie Hospital in Cambridge. With over 9000 staff and over 1100 beds the priorities of the Trust focus on a quality service which is all about people – patients, staff and partners. Recognised as providing ‘outstanding’ care to our patients and rated ‘Good’ overall by the Care Quality Commissioner, is testament to the skill and dedication of the people who work here. CUH’s values – Together- safe, kind, excellent – are at the heart of patient care, defining the way all staff work and behave. The Trust provides accessible high-quality healthcare for the local people of Cambridge, together with specialist services, dealing with rare or complex conditions for a regional, national and international population.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit an experienced pharmacist to work in our busy and expanding clinical trials pharmacy team (non-oncology section) for a 1 year fixed term contract.  As one of the leading UK Trusts for research activity, we host a large portfolio of commercial and non-commercial studies and you will be working with a wide range of study types and clinical specialities, including a small but growing portfolio of advanced therapies.  As well as our hosted studies, a key part of the role will be to work with researchers and the Cambridge Clinical Trials Unit, setting up CUH sponsored studies, which could be from the initial funding application stage right through to the to the study opening and beyond.  You will advise researchers on drug-related aspects of the trial application and ensure that study drugs comply with all regulatory and Trust requirements, are sourced cost-effectively and set up within the study such that recruitment is supported.  You will also be part of the project to roll out CUH electronic prescribing for non-oncology studies and contribute to the further development of departmental processes and strategy.

We are seeking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic individual with experience in the design, set-up and conduct of trials of both Investigator-initiated and commercially sponsored trials. Knowledge & experience in all aspects of clinical trial process is essential, as is the ambition and drive to deliver the best of care and patient experience.  An open and imaginative approach to solving problems, combined with excellent organisational skills and the ability to work at a high level of accuracy in a demanding environment will be required.

To contribute to our exciting future and become part of our team, apply now.
