The Immunology laboratory, Department of Blood Sciences at Addenbrookes Hospital has a vacancy for a qualified, experienced, enthusiastic and motivated HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist, to join our dynamic, hardworking and friendly team of Biomedical Scientists, Clinical Scientists, and Support staff. The department is CPA Accredited awaiting ISO 15189 award and is an IBMS accredited training laboratory.

You must be a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registered Biomedical/Healthcare Scientist and hold the IBMS Specialist Diploma Award or equivalent in Immunology.

You will be involved in performing immunological assays both of a routine and a specialist nature and in the supervision of junior and support staff. The Consultant Immunologist lead service is one of the largest in the U.K., processing over 750,000 tests per year. The laboratory offers a comprehensive and expanding Immunology service including the areas of autoimmune serology, allergy, immunochemistry and cellular immunology and is a Regional centre for Immunodeficiency.

Analysis platforms include Phadia 2500 and 250, DS2, Quantilyser, BNII, capillary zone and gel electrophoresis, flow cytometry, Luminex, Blot Master and cell culture facilities.

Experience in one or more of the major fields of laboratory Immunology is essential.
