Come Nurse with us…

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest teaching Trusts in the country. It comprises Addenbrooke’s Hospital and the Rosie Hospital. We provide accessible high-quality healthcare for the local people of Cambridge and regional and national specialist services. It’s a great place to nurse, work and live.

You will work on a vibrant hospital campus with a friendly community feel; we have excellent facilities to practise your skills and abilities to support your career pathway and development. Our values of Together – Safe, Kind, Excellent support the delivery of outstanding care. We have a fully electronic patient record system that is improving health-care quality; this is transforming services, improving patient safety and clinical outcomes.

The Cancer Services here at CUH are entering an exciting period of change and development. Our new Haematology Day Unit opened in October 2017, enabling us to transform both our inpatient and outpatient anticancer pathways.

An opportunity has arisen for a Matron post within our Cancer Directorate.  Responsible for our four Inpatient wards (Urology, Oncology and Haemato-Oncology) your role will be fundamental in progressing our quality, safety and patient experience agenda.

You will be an experienced senior nurse who has held previous leadership roles and have a proven record of leading a team in delivering high quality care for patients. You will be a highly visible leader, able to evidence how you have positively influenced nursing and patient care and have experience of change management. You should possess excellent communication skills and be self-motivated with the resilience and ability to cope with continuously changing services.

It is an exciting time to join our Directorate. Our vision of building an on-site Cancer Research Hospital has received the support of our Board of Directors; we are currently working towards achieving our goal of delivering our flagship pathways, including enhanced recovery programmes, ambulatory anti-cancer treatments and outpatient bone marrow transplantation; and we are rapidly progressing our ‘living with and beyond cancer’ agenda.

If you have the drive and enthusiasm to work with us in achieving our vision then we would be delighted to welcome you into our team.
