Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH) are looking for a Senior Financial Systems Manager to work with the Finance team to ensure timely and accurate reporting and development of their finance systems.

This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with the Senior Management Team giving you broader exposure and input into business critical decisions. The successful candidate will need to be highly motivated to automate processes as much as possible.

This high profile and visible role will see the successful candidate take a lead on the development and maintenance of automated processes. The role is expected to evolve and develop in line with the needs of the Trust. With this need for continuous development in mind, the Senior Finance Systems Manager will also be responsible for the development and supervision of the Finance Systems Team.

This will include developing and updating finance reports, working with Finance staff to understand information needs and provide advice and guidance on their requests as required, ensure the integrity of Finance Systems Coding Structure is maintained and evaluating the Finance department’s requirements for improving business processes then designing and developing applications and reports to support this.

The Senior Financial Systems Manager needs to use a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements and may also be asked to assist with the production of monthly management accounts and reporting pack as appropriate and provide monthly reconciliations to the ledger in respect of budgets, sales and purchase ledgers.

The Senior Financial Systems Manager should be able to draw on previous experience within a finance systems role and must possess strong IT skills.

The Senior Financial Systems Manager will need to have a proven track record of implementing successful IT projects including some which demonstrated streamlining of business processes.
